Vizio’s new E-Series and M-Series 4K TVs for 2016 are now here and superb
Stephan Jukic – April 21, 2016
After releasing their fantastic 2016 P-series 4K TVs recently, Vizio has now also moved ahead with putting out the even more affordably priced E-Series 2016 4K TV models for 2016.
Starting at just $470, for a 43 inch model, the new E-Series also offer many of the same technologies as the P-Series and also come with Google Cast built into them as a bonus.
Furthermore, as was the case with the P-Series, Vizio has decided to eschew traditional TV tuners, traditional TV remotes and the more commonly known concept of smart TV platforms. Instead, with all of the company’s new TV, a user gets their hands on Vizio’s SmartCast tablet remote control app, which can use almost any touchscreen smartphone or tablet as a touchscreen remote control to browse TV entertainment options and other features. The app is free and in at least the P-Series we already reviewed, comes with an included Full HD tablet remote control. Buyers of the new E-Series will not get the tablet itself included with their lowest-end 4K TVs. Instead they can download the Vizio SmartCast app for free to their own pre-existing tablets or smartphones.
In any case, Along with the E-Series, Vizio is also releasing the 2016 M-Series models, with still better offerings and display specs but with slightly higher prices as well. The smallest of the M-Series models, also a 43 inch display, comes in at a retail price of $500. This 4K TV line also offers Dolby Vision HDR technology but the high dynamic range only starts being the case from the 50 inch TV on upwards. However this too means some superb value since the 50 inch M-Series is retailing for just $850, making this arguably one of the cheapest if not the cheapest HDR 4K TVs on the 2016 market. Furthermore, as we saw in Vizio’s P-Series HDR 4K TVs for 2016, the quality of their Dolby-standardized HDR display technology is downright superb. We assume the same essential specs apply in both HDR M-series and HDR P-Series model TVs.
The 60 inch M-Series HDR 4K TV is priced at just $1,250 and all of these models come with Vizio’s new Android tablet remote included. We should also note that the 2016 M-Series TVs feature full-array LED backlighting, which is a downright excellent bonus in 4K televisions with such reasonable prices.
To rehash the stunning new Vizio 4K TV offerings, the 2016 E-Series comes in sizes ranging from just the above-mentioned 43 inches all the way to a hefty 70 incher of a 4K TV for $1,700 and their smallest set is selling for what is arguably one of the best prices we’ve seen for any new 4K TV in 2016, or even by 3015 standards.
As for the M-Series, its 4K models are selling in sizes ranging from just 43 inches up to a monstrous 80 inches, with the smallest 43 inch TV going on sale for $850 and the 80 inch giant selling for a still stunningly affordable (for that size) $4,000. The M-Series from Vizio also features HDR technology with Dolby Vision standards for all 50 inch+ models.
If the quality of the 2016 P-series TVs is anything to go by, the new E-Series and M-Series TVs will definitely offer plenty of value and quality both. We have especially high hopes for the full-array LED backlighting and HDR in the M-Series models.
