ViewSonic releasing the new and very gamer-friendly XG2700 4K 27 inch ultra HD monitor
Stephan Jukic – January 11, 2016
Viewsonic has come out with an assortment of interesting and in many ways highly practical 4K ultra HD monitors in the last couple years and now the company is adding to this collection with their new XG2700-4K.
The new monitor, the latest in the manufacturers line of products, will feature a host of features that both professionals and 4K gamers can appreciate, much as has been the case with previous recent ViewSonic 4K displays for PCs.
For starters, the new machine will come with AMD FreeSync technology. This particular feature should be a big winner with the gaming crowd since it allows for synchronization between AMD graphics processing units (GPUs) and the monitor display so that both smoothly work together to deliver the same maximal refresh rate at a given resolution and detail settings. FreeSync is particularly useful for 4K ultra HD gaming and AMD is a company known for its powerful 4K-friendly GPUs like the Radeon R9 Fury X and the R9 295×2 GPU cards.
Additionally, the LED backlit XG2700-4K will offer the standard ultra-crisp, ultra HD 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 which is found in a growing percentage of high-end gaming and professional display monitors in the PC industry today and with this 4K resolution, the XG2700-4K also comes with specs such as a rich 1000:1 native contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 of luminance, a 2ms response time and some great adjustment flexibility. Furthermore, ViewSonic is claiming 178 degree viewing angles in all directions, indicating that the XG2700-4K is in fact an IPS display and thus also offers vibrant, rich colors.
Beyond these technologies, the XG2700-4K also uses ViewSonic’s excellent Flicker-Free technology and Blue Light Reduction along with Black Stabilization for a combination of even contrast, even black uniformity and a display screen that’s not hard on the eyes with prolonged use. Furthermore, full adjustability for tilt, height and orientation should be in order.
Finally, in terms of connectivity, we also get some of ViewSonic’s great forward thinking design in the form of four USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI 2.0 port, 2 MHL 2.0 ports a mini Display Port 1.2 port and one full-sized DisplayPort 1.2 slot. In other words, all of the connectivity that either gamers or any other kind of PC users could want is fully present in the XG2700-4K.
The XG2700-4K is expected to go on sale very soon, right at the end of January and will be retailing for a somewhat hefty but not ridiculous $913.
