Starcraft Remastered in 4K. Pricing, Release Date And System Requirements.
Juan Carlos Ropel, July 5, 2017
In celebration of 20 years after its original release, Blizzard Entertainment presents “StarCraft: Remastered”. The epic strategy game will face Terrans, Zergs and Protos against each other once again in their quest to control of the galaxy.
The new edition keeps the original gameplay of Starcraft and its “Brood War” expansion, but adds 4K remastered ultra-high-definition graphics, re-recorded audio, and Blizzard’s modern online feature suite. All units, buildings, scenarios, BSOs and dialogues have been improved.
The Remastered version of Starcraft also includes improved multiplayer matchmaking, social integration with other Blizzard games, offline LAN and campaigns, and the capacity to save games and settings on Blizzard’s cloud computers. Players can switch between the original and new graphics and view new zoomed perspectives for players to appreciate the remaster’s new level of detail. You may zoom out for a Battlecruiser’s view of the battlefield, or zoom in to see the veins on a Mutalisk’s wings. We might also get to see and zoom the Overmind itself in full 4K glory!
Furthermore, because this isn’t a constant live action first-person game with 4K UHD textures and graphics, it’s a lot lighter on the GPU power in any PC it’s used with (as the device requirements stats below show). This means that owners of 4K PC monitors and even ordinary non-4K PC GPUs can really enjoy all the ultra HD 4K gaming glory of “StarCraft: Remastered” without splurging on a more hardcore GPU like one of Nvidia’s GTX-10 Pascal cards.
In addition, anyone who pre-orders a copy of the iconic game before August 14 will unlock three StarCraft buildings: Korhal Command Center, Aiur Nexus, and Char Hive. Players who pre-order also get digital bonuses in StarCraft 2, including the Alexei Stukov co-op commander and three unique portraits that celebrate the new refresh.
“StarCraft: Remastered” will be released worldwide on August 14 for Windows and Mac, although the pre-order is now available at Blizzard’s online store. The game will cost $14.99 and its fully translated to more than 10 languages.
