Sony Professional Solutions Europe has announced the launch of a new model of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player that focuses only on Custom Installation (CI) for home theater systems: The UBP-X1000ES Universal Player.

The new Ultra HD Blu-ray player is specifically designed for the custom install market, including many features that installers will find helpful, such as support for full 4k UHD, High Dynamic Range, Dolby Atmos audio and virtually every connectivity option required for today’s complex custom installations.

According to the Director of Home Entertainment Systems for Sony Electronics, Yukio Ishikawa,

“The new UBP-X1000ES player has been long awaited by custom installers who desire a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player that provides a “one-stop” solution for their clients’ premium entertainment needs. Our new reference model has been specifically designed to deliver the highest quality video and audio possible and will excite the most demanding A/V enthusiasts”.

The X1000ES Universal Player is compatible with Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and almost every other optical disc format, such as UHD, DVD, CD, SACD and Blu-ray 3D. It features video streaming in full 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR), for a deeper level of detail.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player comes in a discrete external and allows 4k streaming via sites such as Netflix, Amazon Video or YouTube, thanks to wireless technology with dual–band MIMO for a strong signal.

Sound integrations include Dolby Atmos 3D and DTS:X object–based surround, and the 1000ES’s 32-bit DAC audio processor supports high-resolution DSD (up to 11.2 MHz) and LPCM (up to 192 kHz) files, to reproduce a great sound experience.

The UBP-X1000ES offers dual HDMI outputs with independent audio and video signal paths, has two-channel analog and digital coaxial connections. But what really sets it apart from other branded players like the UBP-X800 model is the possibility of remote and custom control. The UBP-X1000ES will be fully certified by leading home control and automation system vendors such as Control4, Crestron, Savant, and others.

For device connectivity in the new 4K Blu-ray player, multiple options have been integrated, including IP control over Wi-Fi, CAT 5 cable, RS232C bidirectional control and IR-IN. It has also features a web browser interface and support for ihiji, a cloud-based network management solution that custom installers use for remote maintenance.

The price UBP-X1000ES is still unknown, although we know it will arrive later this summer.
