Apple’s products have long since been a source of numerous rumors about specs, design, appearance and release dates among consumer technology watchers. The case is no different for the upcoming iPad Pro that’s expected to be released later this year.

One of the major rumors revolves around the question of whether Apple will release the tablet as cross between iOS and Macbook, given that this new iPad is expected to be a cut above the normal for the Apple tablets, the rumor doesn’t seem entirely unfounded. Other rumors about the Pro involve its screen design and the possibility of a powerful new processing ability as well as 4K display.

Concept images by several digital artists and designers have emerged which show a bezel free look that, despite its cool factor, is still purely speculative.

Given all these rumors, let’s take a look at some of the more fleshed out speculation behind different parts of the upcoming iPad Pro.

iPad Pro’s Screen

The Korea Times fairly recently reported (citing a local first-tier display supplier) that the reputed 12.9 inch screen of the new Apple tablet should come out with an “almost-UHD” resolution when it comes out on the market between the end of 2014 and early 2015.

Later rumors, from China’s Pad News, claimed that both 2K and 4K resolution screens will be available for two different models of the iPad Pro. Apple is supposedly prototyping a 2K resolution model that will have at least 2560 x 1600 pixels in its screen. However, the iPad Pro 4K version that might also be the case will supposedly emerge with a screen display that gives users true 4K at 4096 x 3072 pixels, which, if true, will be a larger pixel count than that offered by many 4K TVs on the market today, TVs with 55 to 105 inch screens!

While the possibility of Apple releasing two version of the same model in a single year seems a bit wild, it has happened before with the iPad Air.

iPad Pro’s Processor

It’s almost certain that the iPad Pro, regardless of which kind of screen resolution it comes with, will have a beefed up version of Apple’s existing 64-BIT A7 processing chip. It might even come with a completely new A8 series processor that also gives PC grade processing power to the tablet.

Given that other tablet makers are using high powered PC grade processors from Qualcomm or Samsung in their own tablets and phones, Apple will have to go with whatever gives it the most power for its size, even if this means sourcing the new processor from competitors like Samsung.

iPad Pro’s Camera

There is still little in the way of rumors about the camera that the new iPad should come with, however, despite the recent uptick in megapixel quantities on many tablet and latest model smartphones from other name brands like LG and Samsung, Apple may decide to once again forego lots of pixels for a better quality sensor that creates images which do better under varied lighting conditions.

As far as the Pro’s camera goes, we’ll just have to see and base our guesses off of what the latest iPhone will have inside it (a 13 megapixel camera and Sony CMOS sensor).

Finally, to top things off for the iPad Pro, the tech grapevine is also claiming that it will definitely come with Touch ID fingerprint sensor, a longer running battery and a much more intelligent version of Siri ready to take users questions. Also, if it really does end up emerging with a 12.9 inch screen, this will be the biggest iPad yet made by Apple.
