Nikon KeyMission 360: a waterproof 4K Action camera for 360° photos introduced at CES 2016

Nikon has become yet another innovator in the world of 4K action cameras with its introduction of a new type of shooting device at CES 2016 in Las Vegas. We’re talking about the Nikon KeyMission 360, a new waterproof wearable action camera that can capture some stunning 4k ultra HD video to whopping 360-degree angles.
The little shooter (and it is indeed quite tiny) is Nikon’s first ever development in the niche world of action cameras and it comes with one very rugged exterior that will give the action cam leader GoPro Hero cameras a run for their money in terms of resilience. In other words, the new little action camera is built to handle just about any sort of outdoor adventures you can throw at it.
The little KeyMission has been designed for full built-in waterproofing down to a depth of 100 feet and of course also features resistance against dust, shock, low temperatures and heavy rain. Furthermore, it comes with an internal Vibration Reduction (VR) mechanism which reduces camera shake if the video captured by the little shooter is played back through Nikon applications.
As for the inside of the KeyMission, there is an image sensor and lens which are each on one opposing side of the device body and when what they capture is patched together, the captured imagery creates the immersive 360-degree video for which the shooter has been designed, naturally, this video is in 4K UHD resolution (and can likely also be shot in other resolutions though we don’t have this detail confirmed yet.
Nikon has also put out a promo video for the KeyMission, which you can see below and the camera is expected to be officially released to the consumer market in Spring of 2016, like many other 4K UHD products which are being unveiled to the public at CES 2016.
Pricing and specific availability details are not yet available for the KeyMission 4K action camera.
