LG’s E8 2018 OLED 4K HDR TVs Are More Affordable Than Ever

Stephan Jukic – June 3, 2019

The OLED 2018 lineup from LG has followed the brand’s 4K TV trend quite robustly and even now these televisions are some of the absolute best ultra HD TVs available on the market. With peak brightness that’s better than it’s ever been before (equal even to the 2019 OLED TV lineup) and all the other near perfection that OLED TV technology brings to content display, the 2018 OLEDs offer one of the best technology in existence for really appreciating the high quality of ultra HD HDR content or practically any other type of video you play back on their screens. Just as importantly, because the 2018 OLEDs are now being replaced on shelves in favor of LG’s 2019 models, their prices have gone down to levels that are lower than ever before.

Right now, this is particularly the case with LG’s E8 TV, which was one of the flagship ultra-premium models of last year. For the time being, on Amazon.com and through other retail websites, it’s selling for a price that we’ve never before seen for this edition. Specifically, the 55 inch model is going for just $1,549.00. For a 55 inch edition of the excellent E8 model, this is a fantastic price that represents a 50% from its original release price. A new edition is not likely to get much cheaper any time soon.

LG OLED 4K HDR TV E8

The E8, like so many of LG’s powerful OLED TVs, offers perfect black levels, pixel-precise OLED dimming technology, infinite contrast and some of the best content motion handling you’ve ever seen in a 4K TV of any kind. Furthermore, it’s capable of displaying colors that are simply out of this world in their vibrancy and accuracy. OLED display offers these things and others in a way that virtually no LCD TV can match and it does it with a level of energy use that’s usually lower than that of most LCD TVs of comparable brightness.

Again, the 2018 OLEDs like the LG E8 are almost exactly as good as their 2019 successors from LG or Sony, but with much better prices, and this 55 inch model offers an excellent example of this particularly valuable deal at work. We sincerely recommend the E8 at the price it’s going for now, especially if you want high-level premium technology without breaking your budget.
