LG’s Black Friday Discounts On These Premium OLED 4K HDR TVs are Superb
Stephan Jukic – November 18, 2017
OLED 4K TV technology is basically the best you can get your hands on among all 2016 and 2017 4K HDR TVs and LG is the absolute master of developing this literally revolutionary new form of display delivery. The one catch is that LG’s OLED 4K TVs’ have always been some of the most expensive offerings in their different size categories. If you want the honest best in overall picture performance, they’re definitely worth buying even at above average prices but budget-minded buyers might normally prefer a more moderately priced LCD alternative.
However, the upcoming Black Friday mega sales event changes some of this dynamic in a way that should help out anyone who doesn’t quite have the cash for an HDR OLED at its more usual prices. As we’ve covered for particular LG models recently, some of their premium OLED televisions are now selling for prices that we’ve never seen before. We are sincerely talking about some genuinely deep discounts here and what’s on offer is definitely worth a good hard look.
While nearly all of LG’s 2017 OLED TVs are already getting solid discounts of 30% or more, the most particularly interesting models are the B7A and LG C7 editions of this year’s OLED lineup. Why are these particular televisions so noteworthy? Well, this is where we let you in on a little “secret” we’ve frequently mentioned in our reviews of both the C7 and B7 televsions and all other LG 2017 models. Specifically, their essential display performance is so uniformly similar across the entire price and model spectrum that buying the cheapest B7A model gives you virtually the same picture quality specs as buying the priciest flagship W7 model would, despite the fact that the W7 costs nearly 7 times more than its more basic-looking cousin. Yes, the ultra-premium LG OLED models like the “picture on glass” E7 and G7 or the nearly paper-thin hanging W7 model come with far more exotic physical designs and also sport superior sound systems but in terms of how well they perform their core task of showing you your favorite 4K, HDR and other non-4K content, they’re no better than their much cheaper C7 and B7 cousins.
In other words, by going for the now incredibly discounted C7 and B7 models, you’re getting the same picture quality that you would if you spent several thousand dollars on LG’s best OLED 4K HDR models. These flagship TVs are on discount for Black Friday as well but the two most affordable TVs are the true winners in terms of discount deals.
As for their prices, well, the B7A that is LG’s most “basic” model, is going to be selling for $1,596 on Amazon for the 55 inch version and $2,596 for the 65 inch edition. The LG OLED C7 is going for just $100 more in each size category. OLED 4K High Dynamic Range technology has literally never been cheaper than this.
To give a brief rundown of why we love the OLED TVs so much, they deliver some of the best HDR color performance there is today and can deliver total perfect black levels and uniformity in a way that no LCD 4K HDR TV of any kind can match. Furthermore, their displays can activate luminosity or deactivate all light right down to the level of any one of their 8.29 million individual pixels. This is completely beyond the capabilities of what LCD TV technology can manage so far.
Our reviews of the respective OLED TV models mentioned above cover their specs and details in greater detail, so give them a look. You can also link right to their Black Friday sale offerings from each review.
