Insight TV is the principal television channel from TV Entertainment Reality Network (TERN), which yearly produces over 200 hours of original UHD HDR content, mainly focused on sports, adventure and lifestyle. Recently the company revealed a distribution deal with Denver-based cable company Layer3 TV. This accounts for the first 4K UHD distribution deal that INSIGHT TV has signed in the United States.
The agreement means that Insight TV and all its 4K HDR content is now available to all Layer3 TV subscribers on channel 115 in Denver, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Dallas (Layer3’s chief subscriber bases). This will be available through every Layer3 TV set-top box supports 4K UHD format for owners in these areas. New York is next in line to also have access to Layer3 cable services.
“We’re delighted to make this announcement and to further highlight the growing number of territories that now have access to Insight TV,” said Graeme Stanley, commercial director of Insight TV.
“Our schedule covers a wide range of quality programming in the Extreme Sports and Adventure genres covering innovative documentaries, accessible reality series, and cutting-edge factual infotainment, as well as high levels of interactive new formats. We look forward to announcing further US distribution agreements in the coming weeks.”
With the addition of Insight TV, Layer3 TV now offers two 24/7 4K networks, which also include the stunning 4K version of NASA TV, a growing library of 4K UHD on-demand titles, and access to live 4K events, such as Fox Sports’ 4K college football and Bellator’s MMA fights.
For $74 a month, Layer3 TV also offers 155 HD channels from Fox Networks Group, Disney and ESPN Media Networks, Turner, NBC Universal, Viacom, CBS, Discovery, HBO, Showtime, EPIX, Scripps Networks Interactive, as well as local television broadcasters.
If Layer3 is not available in your city, you can still subscribe to Insight TV independently from its website, by getting an Annual Pass for $24.99 or a Monthly Pass of $2.99. Insight TV is available from a browser, mobile devices and some Smart TVs.
TERN has stated its plans to produce another 200 hours of original Ultra HD/HDR (High Dynamic Range) and VR (Virtual Reality) television for Insight TV. Layer3 estimates that more than half of its subscribers have watched live or VOD content in 4K, so this is nothing but a great move by the company to entice consumers into craving for more 4K UHD content for their ultra HD 4K high dynamic range TVs.
