Killing Floor 2 Now Available for Xbox One And Will Run In 4K For Xbox One X

Tripwire Interactive has announced that their popular survival first-person shooter, Killing Floor 2, will be available for Xbox One consoles on August 29. Furthermore, those playing Killing Floor 2 on Xbox One X will receive 4K support, increased performance, high resolution textures, shadow maps and increased shadow-fade-out distance.

The sequel is based on events from Killing Floor, in which a deadly outbreak from the bio-technology firm Horzine creates Zeds, or zombie-like creatures…. (Basically zombies) that rapidly spread across Europe, paralyzing the response from the European Union. In Killing Floor 2, players descend into continental Europe after it has been completely overrun by the Zeds, only a month after the first Zed outbreak ripped through London. Now that the zombies are everywhere, civilization and all European military forces have been systematically eradicated in a plot that’s strangely, coincidentally similar to the story arc from the “28 Days Later” movies.

The Xbox One version will include the complete game of Killing Floor 2 and all previously released content packs – including The Tropical Bash, The Descent and parts of The Summer Sideshow.

Killing Floor 2 will also include new exclusive content available only for Xbox One, 4K upscaling-capable Xbox One S and native 4K Xbox One X versions. One of these gaming content selections will allow players to spray Zeds with liquid nitrogen and tear them into pieces with the Freezethrower weapon for Survival Perk. The weapon comes with 8 customizable skins. Killing Floor 2 players on Xbox One and Xbox One X will also have exclusive access to the Coastal Wasteland Armor uniform with 5 different skin styles. Tripwire Interactive has also confirmed that Killing Floor 2 will include custom support for Mixer, Microsoft’s next-generation streaming service that gives users real-time interactivity on live stream games.

Killing Floor 2 was first launched for PC and PS4 in November 2016, and utilizes a heavily modified version of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3. The Xbox One version will hit the markets on August 29 at the price of $39.99, with Xbox One X enhancements being made available at launch.
