Get a glimpse of what it feels like to be a shark with this awesome 4K GoPro video

4K ultra HD action cams are becoming more popular all the time and the uses for them expand continuously. The combination of rugged durability and extraordinary video clarity these little devices offer is more than anything else what makes them the seemingly ideal tool for a ide range of extraordinary and unique action shooting.
The latest such movie clip we’ve found gives you an inside view into the life of a hammerhead shark, swimming as he pleases beneath the ocean waves. Quite honestly, that life seems pretty fun and easygoing, at least at a short glance.
The video footage in question was shot by a GoPro Hero 4K action camera mounted above the shark’s head, over the fin and shows you pretty much what you might expect to see when one of these beasts of the sea is on the cruise: gliding along near the ocean floor, looking for prey, dealing with other sharks and finally, realizing that it can get rid of the bizarre alien object strapped to its fin by swimming sideways and dragging the Hero camera along the sea bed until it rips loose and floats off.
The impressive video was shot by a diver named Andy Casagrande, who swam to the bottom of a particularly shark-filled area of the sea with a GoPro Hero specifically configured to attach to a shark’s fin. After spotting the hammerhead in the video, he manages to get close enough to attach and away we go.
Hammerheads are among the most famous shark species on Earth and their bizarrely shaped heads, which give them their iconic name, are thought to have their bizarrely shaped heads as a tool for improved control of prey and eye sight.
One advantage of strapping the camera to the body of one of this particular species is their accessibility as mainly shallow water predators.
We’d love to see even more 4K UHD video from the fin of none other than a Great White shark but these predators are not only much more dangerous to approach than hammerheads, they also regularly dive to depths of hundreds of feet, well beyond the water pressure tolerance of any GoPro Hero camera.
Otherwise, the GoPro Hero 4 is probably the best 4K action camera in the world right now. It’s not only extremely tough but can also shoot excellent ultra HD footage at a reasonably good 30 fps frame rate.
Finally, here’s the video if you’d like to take a look. You will definitely not be disappointed.
