The Google Play streaming/download content service for smart TVs and PC users offers a broad selection of SD, HD and much more recently, 4K ultra HD titles to choose from for purchase. This is something most 4K T owners probably know. What many might now know which could be useful right now is that Google Play is also offering January discounts on many of its titles in all three resolutions for the month of January.

If you have a 4K TV in your home and want to open up your choices in premium home entertainment a bit more while saving a few dollars, the Google Play deal isn’t a bad choice to go for. This limited-time promotion is apparently going to be cut off as of January 31st and delivers the option of a movie in SD, HD or 4K UHD for 50% off its normal list price.

Some worthwhile HD titles include “The Girl on the Train”, “Keeping Up with the Joneses” and “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back”, all of which are normally priced at $14.99 for purchase but which now cost just $7.50 to own. Some of these movies and others can also be rented out at lower prices of $5.99.

Then there are the 4K UHD half-price offerings to choose from as well. These can be gotten for reduced prices of $15 instead of the more typical $29.99 through the Google service or via compatible devices like the Chromecast Ultra streaming stick, which is 4K-content compatible on UHD TVs.

Google very recently launched its 4K ultra HD arm of the Google Play home entertainment content service and offers over 125 movies in ultra HD resolution to customers in the U.S and Canada.

As we said, the above deals and others from Google Play end as of the 31st of this month and movies rented through the service have to be watched within 30 days of being ordered.
