Gnarbox is the world’s first mobile solution for viewing, backing-up, editing, and sharing HD / 4k UHD footage from action cameras, DSLR cameras or drones. It’s also a useful device for anyone interested in editing or backing up camera footage right after shooting, especially for those who can’t wait to get home to edit their high resolution videos or struggle carrying the heavy load of laptops, external hard-drives and cords with them.  Gnarbox eliminates this problem by being portable and offering enough GPU power to process 4K videos while taking the workload of your smartphone.

Operating the Gnarbox is as easy as to simply plug-in your camera’s card or connect it via USB cable, then connect your smartphone to Gnarbox’s hotspot and from there open the Gnarbox App, which is free to download on Google Play and the App Store, needless to say it’s compatible with Android and iOS. The Gnarbox App has a seamless editing interface with useful tools to modify your footage as wished.

The tiny device weighs 3.5 ounces and works with any 4K UHD Action Camera (such as the GoPro Hero 5 and its cousins), Drone, DSLR or Mirrorless Camera. The 4K resolution video and RAW photos are processed using an Intel Quad Core 1.92GHZ CPU, a 4 Core Intel HD Graphics GPU and 2GB of RAM.

As for storage, the Gnarbox offers 128GB of FLASH memory, you can back up your files at 4gb per minute via USB 3.0, SD or microSD. Regarding its connectivity, it comes with two USB 3.0 ports and uses a 2.4 ghz 802.11 n wireless signal to give you powerful streaming up to 40 feet away.

The Gnarbox is well built and it’s shock, dust and water resistant. Furthermore, the little editing unit has a lithium battery that gives up to 6 hours of use.

The Gnarbox project started with a crowdfunding on KickStarter, quickly receiving the support of professional and amateur photographers, but now you can get it at Amazon starting at $299.
