Dell’s 24 inch 4K UHD Monitors Now Getting Some Stunning Price Discounts
Stephan Jukic – March 08, 2017
Long and definitively gone are the days in which getting a 4K UHD monitor of any kind would rob your piggy bank for at least $700 or $800 dollars and we’re very glad to see this. It nicely follows the same sort of trend that we’re seeing with 4K ultra HD TVs all over the world. Yes, some 4K monitors sold today still cost well above $900 with many higher-end models running for prices in excess of $1000 to $1500 but at least we’re seeing offers far below the $400 mark coming along.
This is absolutely the case with a couple of Dell’s generally excellent older model (but still excellent for the vast majority of users) 4K UHD monitors.
Starting things off, we have Dell’s 24-inch P2415Q 4K UHD PC display. Once selling for above $500, this compact model now retails new on Amazon.com for a much more reasonable $364.99, selling for $80 less than its price directly from the Dell website itself even. Some of the used models being offered on the Amazon website even go for as low as $337.99 for this nicely sized 24 inch display. The P2415Q is no slouch of a monitor either. It offers up full HDMI, USB and DisplayPort 1.2 connectivity for gaming and all sorts of other typical PC uses. Its 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels looks wonderfully sharp and colors on this model are quite nicely vibrant. In other words, at the prices you can now find it for in the Amazon link above, the P2415Q is a great deal even if it lacks the fancier HDR and advanced connectivity specs of some 2017 PC 4K monitors.
Next up we have Dell’s cousin to the P2415Q, the P2715Q. This larger 27 inch monitor with many of the same specs as the P2415Q, used to retail for $700 on Amazon but now it’s selling for a discount of over $125 for a current retail price of $574.99. This is definitely not a bad deal for a 27 inch display that offers up 99% sRGB color coverage, excellent adjustment and mounting flexibility and all the usual HDMI, USB and DP 1.2 connectivity specs you’d need for all sorts of PC tasks like professional office work and even gaming.
Both of these monitors come with USB 3.0 charging ports for fast battery loading on external devices like smartphones and both monitors come with IPS display panels that deliver superb viewing angles, great color and respectable response times for gamers. The contrast ratios on both of these models aren’t superb but they’re not terrible either as we ourselves have noted in our reviews of both.
The Dell P2415Q in particular represents the excellent deal between these two displays. Its lowest price tag of $299.99 as we noted it on Amazon at the tie of this writing makes the P2415Q one of the cheapest 4K monitors available new today.
