Yet another incredible 4K Projector from Christie in their new 120Hz omnidirectional Mirage 304K

Now the same company has introduced yet another Christie projector into this still very specialized market, which is characterized by limited product selection and high prices.
The Christie Mirage 304K projector is the latest model and it features 4K UHD projection resolution along with 120Hz and omnidirectional display capabilities. Additionally, like other Christie projectors, the Mirage 304K slams out an enormous level of brightness at 30,000 lumens. For comparative perspective, this is 15 times more luminance than that offered by Sony’s VPL home entertainment projectors, which we’ve also reviewed.
The Mirage 304K is designed with 3-chip DLP technology and is built to offer a display more suited for 3D applications and extremely advanced design visualization in industries that have a need for imaging large product, visual spectacle or location plans. These might include the automotive, location-based entertainment, government engineering and military development industries as well as oil and gas, biotechnology and professional construction engineering.
The Mirage 304K model was launched recently during IVR, Japan’s largest 3D and HD image technology exhibition.
Other characteristics of the Mirage include the Christie TruLife Electronics platform, which supports a video processing pipeline with plenty of power, to the tune of 1.2 gigapixels. The projector also provides a range of input options which include DisplayPort, HDMI, HD-SDI and Christie’s own “Christie Twist” for curved screens and blended array visualization applications.
The company places particular focus on characteristics in the mirage which make it ideal for product development and engineering visualization projects. These include image quality, color, uniformity and full 24/7 reliability in creating fully immersive virtual experiences. This last ability comes with stereoscopic capability designed for visualization of extremely complex data.
The projector also offers the distinctly unique spec of being able to offer full 4096 X 2160 4K resolution at 120Hz. This is something of a breakthrough given that virtually any other 4K projector on sale today can manage only 60Hz.
