Warner has very recently released a trailer of the latest definitive version of one of the most popular sci-fi movies in history: “Blade Runner”. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the sci-fi classic, Blade Runner: The Final Cut will be released on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, and will arrive just a month before the release of its sequel, “Blade Runner 2049”.

The remaster of Ridley Scott’s masterpiece will feature not only 4k UHD & HDR visuals but also come with the deep audio detail of Dolby Atmos sound integration. The popular science fiction title of the 80s has never looked this way and even long-time fans who’ve watched and rewatched the movie many times over the decades will be seeing it with a level of sharpness never before possible for this iconic science fiction film. The trailer reveals a touch of this, with some of the most emblematic moments of Blade Runner, mostly action scenes with the main character, Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) and the replicants.

You can glimpse a sample of how great the futuristic dystopian world of Blade Runner looks in this glorious 4K trailer, and for the sake of appreciating its impressive sharpness, we seriously recommend watching it from a 4K UHD TV or on your 4K PC monitor if you have one:

Blade Runner: The Final Cut Ultra HD Blu-ray comes in four discs that include: the 4K UHD version of the movie. 4K remastered trailers, introduction and commentaries by Director Ridley Scott, producers, visual artist, etc. There will also be the usual roster of Deleted & Alternate Scenes. Promotional featurettes, and TV Spots along with a rather unique inclusion of “The ultimate documentary” on the making of the film.

In Blade Runner’s sequel, the upcoming Blade Runner 20149, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), discovers a dark secret that could bring an end to humanity. The discovery leads him to Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who disappeared thirty years ago. The film will be released globally on October 6, 2017, in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.

The Blu-ray of the emblematic piece of sci-fi will be available as of September 5th, just a month before the long-awaited Blade Runner 2049 premieres, commemorating 35 years since its initial release.

Interesting that the trailer doesn’t have that god awful green tint that the Final Cut on the Blu-ray has. Of course there were some thing like 5 cuts in the Blu-ray release most of them have the proper color timing. I am curious if they redo the Final Cut with the original color timing, if so it will justify a double dip.

35 Years. Amazing. Seems like only last week I sat, dazzled at the original theatrical release, a merel couple of days ago I was at the 10 year limited theatrical rerelease, and just a few minutes ago when the director’s final cut BD box set was in my hands.
