Black Friday 4K TV offer of the day: Want a 2016 LG OLED 4K HDR TV for just $1,800?

When it comes to 4K TVs and particularly to HDR versions of them, no consumer television types in existence today can beat the sheer display power and quality of OLED TV panels. In terms of color accuracy, realism and sheer precision black level performance, OLED 4K TVs are practically built to make HDR look exceptionally good. Even the one major specs complaint against the OLED TVs introduced to market by LG has been rendered pretty much moot by the 2016 4K HDR models we’ve reviewed so far. This was their comparatively low capacity for peak brightness relative to LCD 4K TVs and it became meaningless when the 2016 OLED models showed themselves to deliver higher brightness capacities than the majority of this year’s LCD HDR models.

However, there is a general catch to the LG OLED lineup which has remained into 2016 and this is the exceptionally high prices at which these televisions usually sell. Quite simply, LG hasn’t at all made the OLED TVs for either 2016 or even 2015 friendly to most budget-minded buyers.

Well for this year’s Black Friday, this will be changing for at least a little while and you’ll be able to get your hands on one of LG’s stunningly good B6 2016 OLED HDR TVs for the remarkably discounted price of $1,800. This is for a 55 inch model and while it’s still a bit of a steep price by LCD TV standards, compared to the normal 55 inch B6 OLED price tag of $3,999, it means a huge discount.

Furthermore, LG has also discounted their 65 inch B6 HDR model down to a remarkably low retail sale price of $2,800,which is a couple thousand dollars lower than this TV’s list price of $4,999. In other words, this massive TV now costs about as much as many premium Samsung and Sony LCD TVs in the same size range.

This sale begins before Black Friday even arrives. In fact it’s already in effect as of this writing on Sunday November 20th from the LG website itself and from the websites of select U.S retailers, most notably among them and Best Buy.

The LG B6 OLED TV supports essentially the same color and perfect black level specs as even the best of the LG 2016 TVs, the massive and still insanely expensive G6 TV. However, oddly enough, the B6 model offers the best levels of peak brightness that we’ve measured among its LG cousins. With the ability to produce brightness at over 787 nits, this TV beats the vast majority of mid-range and even some premium LCD 4K TVs with HDR sold in this year so far.

Naturally, the B6 also offers stunningly perfect motion handling specs, offers your typically perfect local dimming and due to the nature of OLED technology, it can produce what are essentially perfect black levels. Unlike its LG G6, E6 and C6 cousins, the B6 doesn’t offer 3D technology but this is one very minor tradeoff for such a stunning price on an OLED TV that (at least from our own testing) is as good in its display specs as is pricier LG OLED cousins.

This massive Black Friday sale discount for the LG B6 ends on November 28th, so if you’ve been seriously thinking of splurging on a new OLED TV, now is your best chance.
