One Awesome Hidden Amazon 4K HDR TV Deal on the Sony 75 Inch X940D Model

Some of the most awesome 4K TV deals aren’t always available only around Black Friday and the Christmas holidays. Some of them hide in plain sight throughout the year with concealed price offerings that are definitely on the excellent side pretty much across the board.

The latest such gem we’ve managed to stumble across is a nearly invisible low price offering for one of Sony’s best 2016 Premium 4K HDR TVs. The full-array back-lit XBR 75X940D model. This 4K HDR TV offers, as mentioned above, full array LED backlighting for maximum local dimming power and some truly stunning peak brightness levels combined with deep, rich blacks. In addition to these, the X940D, which we reviewed here, comes with full and truly impressive HDR color performance, including both wide color gamut support and 10-bit (1.07 billion RGB color values) display technology in its panel.

Most importantly of all, this was one of Sony’s very brightest 2016 4K HDR TVs and even now in 2017, it offers nearly the same level of display performance as the new-release XB4-75X940E model for this year. However, unlike the X940E, which retails right now for just about $6,000, the Sony X940D version is currently selling on Amazon.com for a far lower, lower-than-ever-before price tag of just $3,489.27 with free Shipping on select eligible orders (find out if you’re one of them). This is a major drop from its original MSRP of well over $4000 and a drop even from its most recent low price tag of $3,998.99 just a week ago.

What makes this particular offer so excellent for any of you who want a truly premium full-HDR 4K TV with the best in top-shelf HDR certification and specs is the fact that the X940D delivers nearly the same level of performance as its X940E cousin for 2017. Peak brightness is somewhat lower in the 2016 model and there is a bit broader smart TV functionality in this year’s model but both TVs deliver virtually identical color, motion handling and HDR video performance while also allowing access to the same huge quantity of 4K and other content offerings through their smart TV platforms.

Amazon is in fact selling the X940D for about $500 below its manufacturer suggested retail price or the prices we’ve seen it selling for via other online retailers. Thus a visit to the Amazon sales page for this model doesn’t even display the price unless you click on the “See product details in cart” button below the model number and name.
