Amazon’s Fire TV 4K Is Selling At Its Lowest Price Ever For The Holidays

After it’s fairly recent initial release, the new Amazon Fire TV with 4K UHD, HDR support and Alexa voice remote has sold for a fairly consistent price of $69.99, excepting brief recent cyber Monday and Black Friday discounts. Now however, possibly due to anticipated holiday shopping season interest, Amazon has offered up the Fire TV for a new price of just $54.99, a discount of 21% from its regular price.

This is a pretty damn good deal for a streaming media platform that’s dirt simple to install and extremely useful in so many ways. The Fire TV can be set up by simply plugging it into one of your 4K TV’s HDMI ports, plugging in its power unit, and opening whatever streaming app accounts you have with any of the thousands of streaming media apps inside the Fire TV smart OS that the streamer runs off. Amazon even recently gave their Fire TV OS Mozilla’s newest Firefox web browsing app for navigating the entire internet from the comfort of your 4K TV.

We ourselves recently gave the Amazon Fire TV 4K streaming dongle its own in-depth review and were generally very happy with the features offered by the device. It not only delivers access to the majority of major 4K ultra HD content apps available today (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime itself and so forth), it also delivers access to thousands of other media apps of all types. Furthermore, support for high dynamic range content, Dolby Atmos sound and the inclusion of Amazon’s excellent Alexa voice remote control (as well as the Amazon Fire smartphone app) make using the Fire TV 4K HDR dongle a genuine pleasure.

Once again, if you’re not entirely happy with your 4K or HD TV’s existing smart TV platform, the Fire TV 4K edition is a fantastic alternative and getting it for just over $50 is a pretty solid deal.

Here’s a full main features listing from Amazon itself:

  • “All-new, streamlined Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and HDR support. Includes HDMI output, micro USB for power or purchase optional Amazon Ethernet Adapter to take advantage of the speed and reliability of wired internet.
