While a tiny brand new top-shelf smartphone from a major brand might cost you a thousand bucks or so, at last a giant 65 inch 4K TV doesn’t have to anymore.
In the latest example we’ve stumbled across, the internet retailing giant has one genuinely impressive offer on a 65 inch 4K ultra HD TV that’s priced ridiculously low for its sheer screen size. For just $729.99, you can take home a Sceptre U658CV-UMC U 65″ 4K LED Ultra HDTV model with a number of features and smart TV device compatibility. As you’ve probably noticed, Sceptre isn’t exactly a major brand in the 4K TV market and for some buyers that might be a bit off-putting but this is still one hell of a deal even if we’re not talking about a Sony or Samsung model here. The vast majority of 65 inch 4K TVs well for well above $1000 and many models even retail for a couple of thousand dollars or more, so to find one model from any brand selling for the typical cost of a mid-range 50 to 55 inch 4K UHD TV is pretty unique.
That said, while we haven’t had a chance to review the Sceptre U658CV-UMC ourselves, its user review rating on Amazon itself is remarkably favorable from a vast majority of buyers and this model has a fair number of features to make it reasonably attractive.
At the very least, the Sceptre U658CV-UMC promises razor sharp 4K resolution clarity, full compatibility with all major sources of 4K UHD content from apps like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon and will deliver the core necessities of a solid starter 4K TV experience. Furthermore, with a hefty 65 inch display, you’re guaranteed to actually notice the 8.29 million pixels of ultra HD 4K resolution for all that they’re worth.
Here’s a breakdown of this Sceptre TV’s specs so you can decide for yourself if its worth considering, and be sure to read the reviews in the Amazon link above for a bit more opinion from others who own this model.
- 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) with 8 million pixels, four times more than a 1080P Full HDTV.
- 4K-UHD Upscaling with an advanced video chipset for Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD), or Full High Definition (FHD) enhancement to 4K.
- MEMC 120 With a MEMC 120 (Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation)
- HDMI 2.0 Connect for assorted UHD devices- game consoles, Blu-ray devices, laptops- and stream up to 60 frames a second.
- HDCP 2.2 with copyright protection for all major commercial consumer 4K content sources. Sceptre is compliant with HDCP 2.2 on all of its 4K UHD TVs.
The Sceptre U658CV-UMC doesn’t come with its own smart TV platform but hooking up any sort of 4K set-top box, game console or streaming UHD media stick such as the Chromecast Ultra will solve that problem quickly enough. The U658CV-UMC’s HDMI 2.0 connectivity with HDCP 2.2 ensures that all such devices work smoothly on this ridiculously affordable 65 inch beast.
